Immersed in the warm darkness of a summer night, the streetlights of Ottignies illuminate cars floating in the air. The following morning, an hourglass-shaped crop circle appears in the Place du Centre, now converted into a parking lot. Two teams of balle pelote, a local sport driven out by the rise of the automobile more than 30 years ago, face off there, bringing traffic to a complete standstill.
About the music :
The soundtrack of La Petite Reine Blanche draws on the instruments and musical themes of the Walloon brass band.
This brass band, which, much like the game of balle pelote, gradually takes over the city’s soundscape, eventually settles into the rhythm of La Petite Gayole, alongside the spectators.
