CITY SCAPE 2095

A/V installation, On Tour, 2012

Visual : Yannick Jacquet
Drawing : Mandril
Sound design : Thomas Vaquié
Production : Nicolas Boritch - Antivj

Cityscape 2095 results from a collaboration between illustrator Marc Ferrario, Yannick Jacquet and Thomas Vaquié. Though using different techniques of expression, both artists’ work is heavily influenced by architecture.
This installation, using a mix of drawings, video projections and sound, shows the passing of a day in an imaginary city in fast-forward.
Cityscape 2095 puts the spectator at the summit of a tower facing the horizon. The design of this imaginary city is marked by numerous architectural influences, making it both familiar, yet impossible to localise.

About The Sound :

The soundtrack of City Scape 2095 is a mix of atmospheres recorded during my travels around the world, but also a lot of sounds recorded on my balcony in Brussels at different periods of the day and the year.
Everything is accompanied by a little more unreal sound effect. The idea here is to create 24h skyline ambiances of a city reduced in 10 minutes.
With the music broadcasted on 4 speakers, the audience is to feel like standing on the rooftop of a building.
