Ciels is a unique, site-specific artwork/commission dedicated to the lighting design of the glass roof of the Nef of the Grand Palais.
In the plural, Ciels (meaning skies in french) evokes the artwork’s infinite metamorphoses, like those of the celestial vault which, hour after hour, sweeps across one tableau after another. It reveals itself at every moment, permeated by light.
About The Music :
With the music of Ciels, I wanted the sound of the steel lattice framing the building to blend with the brass of the trombones, French horns, and saxophones, the bronze of the bells, and the aluminum of the snare drum.
